Provably fair on CSVOLT
Provably fair means you do not have to take our word for a result. Every result on CSVOLT is fixed before you play, and anyone can recreate it once the seed is revealed.
The three ingredients
- Server seed: a random secret made by us. Before you play you only see its hash, a fingerprint of the seed. The seed stays hidden, but it can no longer change.
- Client seed: a string you control. Change it any time under Account, Fairness.
- Nonce or round: a counter. For cases and upgrades it goes up by one with every play on the same seed pair. Double uses the round number. Battles use the round and the seat.
Why it works
We commit first. You see the hash of the server seed before you play. If we changed the seed later, its hash would no longer match.
You add your seed. Your client seed and the counter are mixed in, so we cannot predict or choose the outcome on our own.
We reveal, you check. When you rotate your seeds, or the round ends, the server seed is revealed. Check it against the hash you saw and recreate the result.
Seeds per game
| Game | Server seed | Client seed | Counter |
|---|---|---|---|
| Case opening | Your own seed pair | Yours, change it any time | Nonce, one per case |
| Upgrader | The same pair as cases | Yours | Nonce, one per upgrade |
| Case battles | One per battle, hash shown at creation | Made when the last seat fills | Round and seat |
| Double | Next seed of a public chain | Public, shared by everyone | Round number |
Verify a case opening, step by step
- Open Account, Fairness. Note the current server seed (hashed) and your current client seed.
- If you like, set a new client seed of your own before you play.
- Open your cases. Each case uses the next nonce. The count shows as total plays with the pair.
- Back in Account, Fairness, rotate your seed pair. The previous server seed is now shown in full.
- Check that this seed matches the hash you noted in step 1, with any public hash tool.
- Open the verify page, choose Case Opening and enter the server seed, the client seed and the nonce.
- The result shows as you type. It must match the item you got.
You can also open Account, History: once the seed of a play is revealed, its verify panel checks the result for you.
Verify a battle or a Double round
For a battle, take the server seed shown when the battle ends and the client seed made when the last seat filled, then pick Case Battles on the verify page. For Double, take the round seed shown after the round, the public client seed and the round number. Every Double seed is part of a pre committed chain, so the seeds of later rounds are fixed too.
Frequently asked questions
What is a server seed hash?
A fingerprint of the server seed. It lets us commit to the seed without showing it. Once the seed is revealed, anyone can check that it matches.
Why should I change my client seed?
You do not have to, but you can. A client seed you chose yourself proves that we could not pick a seed pair that works against you.
When is my server seed revealed?
When you rotate your seed pair under Account, Fairness. A new hashed server seed takes over.
Can CSVOLT change a result after I play?
No. The server seed is fixed and its hash is shown before you play. A changed seed would not match the hash.
Does Volt Spin change the result?
No. The item is decided by the seeds before the reel moves. Volt Spin only changes how it is shown.
18+ only. Provably fair shows that results were not changed. It does not mean you will win. Every game is a game of chance, so set limits in responsible gaming.
