Cheap cases are the best way to enjoy case opening on a small budget. They let you open more often, learn how different cases feel and still have a shot at something nice. They do not have better odds than expensive cases, and their top items are usually very rare. Here is how to get the most fun out of a small balance.
Finding cheap cases
On CSVOLT the case list has price presets. Pick 0.00 to 5.00 to see the cheapest cases, or 5.00 to 10.00 for the next step up, then sort by Price Ascending. Every price is in coins, and 1 USD equals 1.5 coins, so a case at 1.50 coins costs about 1 USD.
What a cheap case really is
A cheap case has the same structure as any other: a list of items, each with a chance out of 10,000,000 tickets. What changes is the balance:
- The common items are usually worth less than the price.
- A handful of items are worth more than the price.
- The headline item, sometimes a knife or gloves, has a tiny chance.
Cheap does not mean generous. It means small amounts per opening. Read the table of any case before you open it, see CS2 case odds explained.
Pick the volatility that fits a small budget
Every case shows a letter: L, M, H or I.
- With L and M cases your balance moves more slowly, so a small budget lasts longer and you see more openings.
- With H and I cases most openings are small, and the rare big hit is what you are playing for. On a small budget this can end a session fast.
Neither is right or wrong. If your goal is a long, relaxed session, lean towards L and M.
Stretch a session
Decide the budget first
Pick a number you are happy to spend, for example 15 coins, which is about 10 USD. That is your session. Do not top it up because of a bad run.
Do the maths before you open
At 0.50 coins per case, 15 coins give you 30 openings. At 5 coins per case, only 3. More openings means you see more of what a case can do, and a single bad result matters less.
Sell the small stuff or keep it
Every item goes to your inventory. Small items can be sold back for coins at their listed value, or several of them can go into the Upgrader together for a chance at one better skin. Decide which you prefer before you start, so you are not making it up after every opening.
Open four at once only if it fits
You can open one to four cases per opening. Four at once is four times the price per click. On a small budget, one at a time keeps the session longer.
Use free cases first
Before you spend a coin, use what is free:
- 3 welcome cases with a referral code such as CSVOLT, once you verify your email or make a deposit.
- Task Sparks: 140 Sparks for one time tasks like verifying your email and turning on two factor login. They open small Spark cases.
- The Daily Volt case once a day for players who qualify.
See free cases and how to get free CS2 skins.
Try a demo spin
Signed in players can try a free demo spin on a case page. It costs nothing and gives no item, but it shows you the reel and the Volt Spin. If a case does not look fun in the demo, skip it.
Cheap cases in battles
A case battle with cheap cases is a cheap way to play with others. Shared battles split everything equally, which makes them gentle on a small balance. Regular battles are winner takes all, so they swing more.
Common mistakes on a small budget
- Chasing the knife. The knife in a cheap case is the least likely result. Plan for the common ones.
- Topping up after a loss. That turns a small session into a big one. Stop when the budget is gone.
- Switching to expensive cases to win it back. It ends the session faster, not better.
- Forgetting the playthrough. Free value and bonuses must be played through before a redeem. Wallet, Redeem shows what is left.
